The death penalty

Saddam Hussein sentenced to death by hanging.

I’m not even sure he was mentally fit to stand trial to be honest.  He, and his co-defendants have the right to appeal but any appeal is likely to be swift and expected to fail.

I am against the death penalty. No exceptions. Life imprisoment if appropriate, but not execution. I just hope it’s not public. Just because he took lives does not give anyone else the right to take his life.

  1. but no it was a fair trial because one of them was acquitted…
i don’t agree he was mentally unfit to stand trial (except that you could argue that a man who thinks they can kill anyone who disagrees with them is obviously not all there) but as you do i say no death penalties. i know he didn’t kill any of my relatives but i think i would believe the same if he had. it doesn’t help any of us.
