Look to the skies…
Shooting stars are set to grace the night sky with a spectacular light display this weekend.
This year the Perseids meteor shower coincides with a New Moon (also known as a dark moon) which should give us the best views possible - assuming the skies stay clear.
Take a look from Saturday night to Tuesday night. Early Monday morning should be the best part of the shower - but I plan to be in bed. There’s a star chart thingummy on the link that shows where to look.
The Persied shower is caused by tiny bits of debris hitting the Earth’s atmosphere as we pass through the tail of the Swift-Tuttle comet.
Happy star gazing!
