Heads up, Action needed…
Spreading the word from Witchy’s place.
Guy Armand Raes, 51, an officer in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police was ostensibly supporting a 17 year old girl to get off drugs and alcohol and sort her life out but guess what happened? Yes, he had one of those “momentary lapses” that result in sexual assault.
[ ]
This same man is due to be given an award for bravery by the Queen’s representative in Canada, Governor General Michaëlle Jean, because, in the same year he sexually assaulted a vulnerable young woman in his care, he rescued two people from a fire. This cannot be right.
No, it’s not right. Even if this citation for bravery is for a single incident if individual bravery, it’s still wrong. It still negates the 17 year old’s experience and devalues the assault, because he’s a hero right? He can still get an award even if he abuses women? Or because women mean nothing…..
He’s in Canada, but the award is given from our Queen and what she gives in terms of honours is given in the name of the British people, in my name and yours. I have no desire to have my name connected with any award given to him, apart from an award of more time in prison maybe, or an award of hefty compensation that he has to pay to women in need of support while surviving abuse. But not an award for bravery.
Governor General Michaëlle Jean isn’t responsible for giving this man any awards but she has to present it to him. She has done some good work for women surviving abuse in Canada, I suspect she’d listen to us if we told her how we feel.

Thank you. You get it. So far, I’ve had only one like-minded response from the many Canadian e-mails I’ve sent out.
Apparently the folk in the community she lives in support him. She’s a teen slut. What else.

Hi Sis,
Thanks for dropping in. I’ve had no response to any emails yet - but there is a disclaimer on the UK Royal family site that they don’t tend to answer by email. But we can hope that someone, somewhere, will listen.

Like Witchy says in her previous to last post: Why bother? Well, because we have to. I couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t at least speak out.

Dont go and say this girl is a teen slut when you didnt even know her. This man was supposed to be helping her, imagine having your only hope being ripped away. Imagine having that one person in your life that you could trust so much, Go to Fuck all.. of course he knew what he was doing and what the consequences were. He thought he could get away with it because this man was all this girl had, if she left him she would probably be in jail or worse. He knew that she was all he had, so he used that oppertunity.

Gurl,
Sis wasn’t calling the young woman a slut. She’s reporting what others have said. No-one on this blog would blame the young woman for what happened. Guy Armand Raes abused her by taking advantage of his position in the community and his position of authority.
Have you emailed anyone about it?

Oh i must have read that wrong. There has to be something more that can be done then just emailing the queen. Like morally its all wrong even him going to jail for only 9 months or whatever then gettin gout three days later. This guy fucked up her life…before that he even had a year payed vacation until the trail came. Like this is bullshit. Yea he said hes suffered emberassment and had to quit his job, but everyone else has to face what theyve done. Even if he is a cop or not, its not fair he knew what he was doing. Its hard..
